Championing Collaboration and Excellence: Dr. Margarita Cecilda Fernandez’s Address at the RISE 2024 ICREATE Conference

In a significant event marking a milestone in academic and professional collaboration, Dr. Cecilda Rillera, President of Baguio Central University, delivered an inspiring message as a co-host at the 1st RISE 2024: ICREATE International Conference on Research and Exhibits on Aviation and Aeronautics, Tourism, Engineering, and Education. This groundbreaking conference brought together leading minds from diverse fields to foster innovation and excellence.

In her address, Dr. Rillera highlighted the critical importance of interdisciplinary collaboration in driving forward both academic and industry advancements. She emphasized that the theme of the conference— “Innovating for Sustainable Futures: Advancing Aviation, Aeronotics, Tourism, Engineering and Education”—are interconnected sectors that can mutually benefit from shared knowledge and research.

Dr. Rillera reaffirmed the university’s dedication to its core values: Equitas (Equity), Veritas (Truth), Libertas (Freedom), and Justitia (Justice). She also emphasized that these values guide their mission and are integral to their approach to education and research. Furthermore, Dr. Rillera also addressed the pivotal role of education in nurturing the next generation of innovators and leaders. She stressed the need for educational institutions to adopt new pedagogical strategies that prepare students for the rapidly evolving demands of the global job market. Dr. Rillera also made special mention of the Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 17, which focuses on partnerships for the goals. She emphasized that collaboration and partnership are essential for achieving sustainable development across all sectors. “SDG 17 underscores the importance of working together to achieve our common goals. This conference exemplifies the spirit of partnership that is necessary to address global challenges and drive progress,” she highlighted.

Dr. Rillera also extended her heartfelt gratitude to WCC Aeronautics and Aviation College for hosting the event. She acknowledged the college’s pivotal role in organizing the conference and its significant contributions to the fields of aviation and aeronautics. “It is a privilege to be part of this prestigious event and to partner with WCC Aeronautics and Aviation College. Their leadership and dedication to advancing research in aviation and aeronautics are truly commendable,” Dr. Rillera said. “We are proud to collaborate with an institution that shares our commitment to excellence and innovation.”
