Global partnerships, real-world impact
From the Cordillera to the world.
The International Relations Office connects Baguio Central University with universities, networks and partners abroad, and aligns that work with the UN Sustainable Development Goals and WURI, the global ranking of universities with real impact.
Why internationalization matters at BCU
Internationalization in higher education is increasingly recognized by bodies such as the Commission on Higher Education (CHED). For BCU, it is how Education for All reaches a global stage.
The IRO builds partnerships and linkages, represents BCU in international networks and conferences, and leads the university's participation in WURI, helping BCU form graduates who are academically proficient, culturally aware and globally connected while serving both local and global communities.
Global competitiveness
Equipping students with skills and knowledge that are relevant on a global scale, in line with BCU's mission to form holistic, globally competitive graduates.
Cultural exchange
Promoting cultural understanding so students thrive in diverse environments, at home and abroad.
Research collaboration
Working with international partners on joint projects that address shared global challenges.
Quality assurance
Aligning programs with international standards so they meet the evolving needs of students and employers.
Funding opportunities
Opening access to global funding for research, publications, community extension, instruction and development.
WURI: ranked for real-world impact
WURI (World's Universities with Real Impact, also known as the World University Rankings for Innovation) measures how universities create value for industry, society and their communities through innovation, rather than by traditional research output alone.
Announced at the 6th Hanseatic League of Universities (HLU) Annual Conference and WURI 2026 Global Rankings Ceremony, National Chi Nan University, Taiwan, May 2026.
