Message from the Director for Research

Research that is ethical, relevant and responsive

Research is central to the mission of a university. It advances knowledge, strengthens teaching and learning, develops students’ capacity for inquiry, and helps communities respond to real and emerging challenges. At Baguio Central University, the Research and Development Center (RDC) supports research that is ethical, relevant, and responsive to the needs of the Cordillera and the wider society. We encourage faculty and students to investigate important issues, share evidence-based findings, and translate knowledge into practical improvements in education, professional practice, public service, and community life.

This work reflects CHED’s direction for higher education institutions to advance research, innovation, and extension in support of inclusive social and economic development under CMO No. 52, s. 2016. It also supports CHED’s outcomes-based quality assurance framework under CMO No. 46, s. 2012, by helping the University demonstrate meaningful outcomes through knowledge creation, application, and engagement. Through strong partnerships and responsible research practice, BCU seeks to contribute to sustainable development and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
