*Baguio City, December 7, 2023* – Faculty members of Baguio Central University- College of Teacher Education and Liberal Arts (CTELA) actively participated in a two-day learning conversation conducted by the Commission on Higher Education – Cordillera Administrative Region (CHED-CAR). The event, titled “Uniting Higher Education Institutions for Internationalization Synergy,” took place at the University of the Cordilleras from December 5 to 6, 2023.
The primary objective of the gathering was to foster collaboration among higher education institutions in the region and pave the way for the establishment of the IZN Council in the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR). This initiative aims to enhance the internationalization efforts of academic institutions in the area, creating a platform for shared resources, best practices, and collaborative projects.
One of the focal points of the event was the crafting of the IZN Cordillera regional strategic plan. Faculty members from various institutions engaged in extensive discussions, workshops, and brainstorming sessions to outline a comprehensive plan that aligns with the global standards of internationalization in education.
Furthermore, the participants had the opportunity to take part in the ceremonial uploading of entries for the World University Ranking Impact (WURI) 2024. The WURI rankings assess universities based on their social impact and contributions to the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This activity marked a significant step toward recognizing and showcasing the regional universities’ commitment to making a positive impact on society through their educational and research endeavors.
The event concluded with a sense of optimism and commitment among the faculty members, who left equipped with fresh perspectives, new strategies, and a strengthened network of colleagues. The establishment of the IZN Council in CAR is anticipated to bring about positive transformations in the region’s higher education landscape, fostering a culture of internationalization and global engagement among academic institutions.
