Tailan and Abuan: Mr. and Ms. CONSOM 2022

Dee Jay Tailan and Blessie Abuan were crowned as Mr. and Ms. CONSOM 2022 during the search of their department, College of Nursing and School of Midwifery, last November 21, 2022, at the Baguio Central University’s Auditorium.

After two consecutive years without the pursuant of the search due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the College of Nursing and Midwifery took the opportunity to conduct the program this year whereas, a total of 12 candidates, six males, and six females, vied for the crown.

“Don’t be afraid to try because everyone can join a pageant and this type of event isn’t only based on physical appearance, but even on your attitude and dedication to win the crown. Also, winning and losing is part of this contest, so there’s no wrong whether you lose as long you know that you did your best,” Tailan said.  “I just want to share what I did to win the crown- it was simply to believe that I can do it because I know that believing in yourself is the first secret to success,” he added.

Abuan as well left an inspiring message to everyone, “Fear is a feeling that prevents you from experiencing events and things that sometimes give the most lesson. Believe in yourself. Trust in your heart and mind, and everything will follow.
