3rd CBA Student Research Colloquium Advances Collaborative Research in Business, Technology, and Social Science

The College of Business Administration (CBA) of Baguio Central University successfully conducted the 3rd CBA Student Research Colloquium on February 24, 2026, from 8:00 AM to 12:00 NN at the MJF Function Hall, BCU Main Building, with the theme, “Strengthening Research Collaboration Across Business, Technology, and Social Sciences.” The event gathered student researchers from the College of Business Administration (CBA) and the Bachelor of Physical Education (BPED), providing a dynamic platform to showcase their research outputs and promote interdisciplinary collaboration.

Ms. Khea Joy H. Botes officially opened the program with a brief yet heartfelt welcome address, setting a warm and positive tone for the event. In her remarks, she expressed her sincere appreciation to the organizers, guests, and participants for their presence and support. She emphasized the importance of the gathering, highlighting its purpose and the collective efforts that made the program possible. Short while, the colloquium was honored by the presence of its keynote speaker, Mr. Meynard O. Soriano, Program Chair from the School of Computer Engineering, University of Baguio, who shared valuable insights on the importance of integrating technology, innovation, and research to address emerging societal and industry challenges. His message emphasized the critical role of research in fostering innovation, informed decision-making, and sustainable development.

The event also featured paper presentations evaluated by a distinguished panel of experts. The external panel members included Mr. Meynard O. Soriano and Mr. Julius Caesar D. Monico from the University of Baguio, and Ms. Consuelo S. Monte from the Philippine College of Science and Technology. The internal panel members were composed of Ms. Marga L. Taganas, Ms. Patricia Anne F. Lopez, Ms. Cherrie Mae M. Manuel, and Ms. Aiza Bheal Kitani, whose expertise and guidance provided meaningful feedback to further strengthen the students’ research competencies.

The 3rd CBA Colloquium featured an engaging lineup of student presenters from various academic programs, showcasing the diversity of expertise within the college. The presenters were representatives from the Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, the Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, and the Bachelor of Physical Education programs. The participation of these three programs enriched the 3rd CBA Colloquium, reflecting the interdisciplinary spirit of the event and demonstrating the students’ commitment to academic excellence and professional growth.

This academic initiative highlights BCU’s commitment to advancing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 4: Quality Education, by promoting research-driven learning; SDG 9: Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure, by encouraging innovative and technology-integrated research; and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals, through collaboration with external academic institutions and experts. The colloquium not only strengthened students’ analytical and research skills but also cultivated a culture of inquiry, collaboration, and academic excellence.
