Jolina J. Tampoc and Marga L. Taganas

Students and faculty members of Baguio Central University’s College of Business Administration successfully completed a dynamic co-curricular activity titled “Valley Bread Plant Tour: A Glimpse of Reality on Business Management Practices” last April 28, 2025 at Valley Bread Inc., Buyagan, La Trinidad, Benguet.

CBA students and faculty members before departure.

Students had the valuable opportunity for a comprehensive tour at the Valley Bread factory focused on the production of loaf breads and provided the students with firsthand insight into the operations of a real-life food manufacturing business.

Dressed in sanitary gear for safety and hygiene, the participants were given the opportunity to take a tour inside the factory and introduced to the step-by-step process of bread production—from the selection and mixing of ingredients, dough preparation, fermentation, baking, slicing, and finally, packaging. The students observed the use of modern equipment and automated machines that help increase efficiency and maintain consistency in production. This plant tour served as a practical learning experience for the students, especially in understanding how business operations, supply chain, and production management come together in a real-world setting.

The College of Business Administration is grateful to the management and staff of Valley Bread for accommodating the students and for sharing their knowledge and experience. This activity helped inspire future business professionals by giving them a clearer view of the inner workings of a successful local business. The Valley Bread Plant Tour aimed to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical business management by providing students with firsthand exposure to real-world production processes, quality control, and operational practices. The activity was organized by one of CBA’s faculty member, Mr. Argie Aquino.

In a special moment of appreciation, certificates of participation and appreciation were awarded to the students and Valley Bread employees who facilitated the tour. The awarding ceremony underscored the mutual gratitude between the institution and the host company, marking the event as a successful bridge between academic learning and real-world industry practice. This initiative reflects Baguio Central University’s continued commitment to experiential learning, helping future business professionals gain insights beyond the classroom and develop the skills needed to thrive in the business world.
