Baguio Central University Students Spark Innovation in Robolution Regional: Robotics and Automation Competition

Baguio Central University students attended the Robolution Regional: Robotics and Automation Competition at University of Baguio from October 9 to 11, 2024 spearheaded by Erovoutika Robotics and Automation Solutions showcasing not only their technical knowledge but also their ability to collaborate and create advanced solutions in the rapidly evolving field of technology.

This dynamic seminar and competition brought together students from various universities, colleges, and even basic education levels, all eager to deepen their knowledge and hands-on experience in the fields of robotics and automation.

Students enrolled in Bachelor of Science in Computer Science- Mr. Jeff C. Pais, Mr. Erick C. Gaceta and Ms. Jessica Lorrine M. Inay, proudly represented Baguio Central University, guided by their faculty mentor, Mr. Junik Cris Calahi. Their active participation in the seminar and competition highlighted the university’s strong dedication to promoting innovation, advancing technological education, and supporting student development in the ever-evolving fields of robotics and automation.

The event commenced with a comprehensive seminar exploring the fundamentals of robotics, key programming languages in automation, and emerging trends in AI-driven robotic systems. Students enthusiastically engaged in the discussions, showcasing both their curiosity and understanding of the subject matter. In addition to the seminar, attendees took part in interactive, hands-on workshops where they translated theoretical concepts into practical applications. These sessions not only sharpened their technical abilities but also enhanced their critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

The highlight of the event was the competition segment, where teams were challenged to devise robotic solutions within limited timeframes. It was a thrilling and inspiring showcase of creativity and teamwork.  Despite the intense competition, the BCU participants demonstrated commendable sportsmanship, showcasing a positive attitude throughout the event. The team’s experience not only fueled their passion for robotics but also strengthened their resolve to excel in the practical application of robotics and automation solutions. Their journey is a testament to the power of perseverance, collaboration, and a growth-oriented mindset.
