Baguio Central University is proud to announce that Dr. Genevieve Balance Kupang, Dean of the Graduate School and International Relations Officer, has been awarded a Certificate of Recognition by LINGAP-Canada (Learning for Interdependence and Global Awareness of the Philippines-Canada this first semester Academic Year 2025-2026.
The award, formally conferred by board resolution on July 30, 2025, honors Kupang’s exceptional and sustained commitment to advancing peaceful, just, inclusive, and sustainable societies—work grounded in rigorous scholarship, strategic community engagement, and transformative partnership across the Philippines, Canada, USA, Argentina, UK, Kenya, Indonesia, Nepal, Mosambique, Spain, Iceland, Chile, and the global community.
This distinction exemplifies Kupang’s visionary leadership in embodying Baguio Central University’s core values of Libertad (Freedom), Justitia (Justice), Equitas (Equity), and Veritas (Truth). Her scholarship and community initiatives have catalyzed meaningful institutional transformation, inspiring the BCU community to engage in collaborative action for social change alongside diverse local and international partners—from universities and civil society organizations to governmental agencies and international networks.
Kupang extends her leadership influence through strategic roles in international networks committed to peace, innovation, and educational transformation. As WURI-L (World University Networks for Innovation-Leaders) Secretary, she advances university-based innovation addressing global challenges; as Peace Education Coordinator and Chair of Special Interest Groups for the World Council for Curriculum and Instruction (WCCI), she integrates peace-building into educational frameworks internationally; as Philippine representative to the World Humanist Forum, she advocates for humanist values in global discourse; and through her work with the Pathways to Peace Exceptional Women of Peace (PTP EWOP) Awards, she recognizes and elevates women leaders advancing peace globally. These interconnected roles amplify her capacity to catalyze BCU’s mission into transformative international action.
Kupang humbly attributes this recognition to the constant support of University President Dr. Margarita Cecilda B.
