BCU–CBA JPMAP Strengthens Industry Linkages at the 25th JPMAP General Membership Meeting

The BCU College of Business Administration (CBA) JPMAP Club actively participated in the 25th JPMAP General Membership Meeting and Annual Induction Rite held on November 30, 2025, from 9:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M. at Ramada by Wyndham Manila Central. Anchored on the theme “Trail of Triumph: Pathway to Integration, Innovation, and Inclusion,” the event gathered student leaders, industry professionals, and future people managers from across the country.

Representing BCU–CBA were Lovely Grace Basilang and Aira Escarlan, accompanied by Mr. Junik Cris A. Calahi, a faculty member of the College of Business Administration. Through a series of insightful discussions, participants gained valuable perspectives on purpose-driven leadership, people-centered innovation, and the cultivation of inclusive workplace cultures.

The event’s keynote address was delivered by Ms. Cheryll Ruth L. Agsaoy, Senior Vice President and Group Head for Human Resources of SM Supermalls, who underscored the importance of inclusive leadership and highlighted the evolving and strategic role of human resource professionals in today’s dynamic work environment. Meanwhile, Ms. Keanna Mae G. Alfonso, HR Assistant Manager for Performance and Rewards of Okada Manila, discussed “The Emergence of Generations: The Success towards Integration in the Workplace,” emphasizing that generational diversity is not merely a team dynamic but a powerful driver of organizational success.

Further enriching the program, Atty. Juan Alfonso D. Suarez, Executive Vice President and Chief People, Corporate Services, and Sustainability Officer of East West Banking Corporation, spoke on “Harnessing Strengths, Charting Progress in the Future of People Management.” He highlighted that consistency transforms average performance into excellence and that learning from mistakes is more valuable than missing opportunities altogether. Additionally, Mr. Hiroki Lim Reverza, Organizational Development Leader of Filinvest Development Corporation, presented “The Pillars of Talent Management: Competency, Commitment, and Contribution,” stressing that while competence is essential, commitment is a stronger predictor of long-term growth and employee retention.

A significant portion of the program was dedicated to leadership transition, marked by the presentation of certificates of appreciation and the formal induction of the 2025–2026 JPMAP Officers. Fellowship activities followed, fostering stronger connections and collaboration among JPMAP members nationwide. The Junior People Management Association of the Philippines (JPMAP) is a national youth organization guided and supervised by the People Management Association of the Philippines (PMAP), the country’s premier organization of human resource practitioners and people managers. JPMAP is committed to developing and empowering its members by bridging academic learning and professional practice through leadership training, personal development initiatives, and collaborative platforms that address people management and socially relevant issues.
