BCU-CBA Strengthens Research Engagement Through Student Participation in Regional Colloquium

The College of Business Administration (CBA) through its student, Daniel B. Padilan Jr., successfully represented CBA at the 3rd Regional Student Research Colloquium held on October 15, 2025 at the University of Baguio (UB). The colloquium carried the theme “Meaningful Collaboration Through Research.”

Mr. Padilan who is currently taking Bachelor of Science in Business Administration major in Financial Management was accepted as a representative of BCU in the research poster presentation competition. He presented his study entitled “Exploration of Buy Now, Pay Later Usage in Online Shopping Platforms: An Analysis of Pure Compensation Earners,” which explores consumer behavior in the growing digital payment landscape.

The colloquium was organized by the University of Baguio, through its Research, Innovation, Extension, and Community Outreach (RIECO) Office, in partnership with Baguio Central University. It gathered student researchers from five higher education institutions across the region, namely Kalinga State University (KSU), Easter College Inc., Cordillera Career Development College (CCDC), and the host institutions BCU and UB. The event formally opened with a short program featuring invited speakers who shared their insights, experiences, and expertise on research, collaboration, and leadership. Following the opening program, participants proceeded to the research competitions, which featured two formats of research dissemination: oral presentations and poster presentations. Mr. Padilan’s study was featured under the poster presentation category.

The colloquium aimed to strengthen regional academic ties and promote a culture of research excellence among students. Through various research presentations, participants shared innovative ideas and research-based perspectives addressing both local and global concerns, highlighting the significant role of student-led research in advancing education, technology, and community development. CBA’s participation in the 3rd Regional Student Research Colloquium underscores the university’s commitment to research engagement and academic collaboration, empowering students to contribute meaningful knowledge and innovations to the wider academic community.
