BCU inducts new set of officers

The new set of officers of the different clubs and organizations of the Baguio Central University Year 2022-2023 were inducted into office on October 14, 2022, at the university’s function hall.
The program started with a doxology and singing of the national anthem, followed by the welcome remarks of the Vice President for Academic
Affairs, Dr. Elma D. Donaal.
Afterward, an intermission number featuring some of the cultural dances in the Cordillera was performed by the students from the Bachelor of Physical Education (BPED).
The induction proper and awarding of certificates of recognition to the 17 clubs and organizations took place shortly after. The participants are from the six departments under the Student Government
Organization namely the College of Business Administration (CBA), College of Criminal
Justice (CCJE), College of Engineering (COE), College of Hospitality and Tourism Management (CHTM), College of Nursing and Midwifery (CONSM), and College of Teacher Education (CTELA).
The College Engineering-Philippine Institute of Civil Engineers Baguio Central University Student Chapter (PICE-BCUSC), College of Engineering-Geodetic Engineering Student Association (GESA), CHTM-Student Mixologist, Student Assistants and Security Marshals (SASMO), Peer Facilitators and Mental Health Advocate (PF-MHAO) were also included in the induction. Lastly, different clubs from CTELA which are the Social Studies, Mix Performing Arts, Bachelor of Physical Education, Scientia Technologia Sodalisi, Political Science, Filipino, English, Bachelor of Elementary Education, and Mathematics Club, were inducted as well.
Meanwhile, the Supreme Student Council (SSC) was
inducted last November 14 at the University Function Hall with the theme “Gearing towards Globally Competitive Leadership”.
The program started by the opening ceremonies of the Chamber Choir, followed by the welcome remarks of Dr. Elma D. Donaal, the vice president for academic affairs. A gracious intermission was also made by the students from the Bachelor of Physical Education (BPED).
Hon. Levy Lloyd B. Orcales, the guest speaker of the program, noted, “I believe that youth empowerment is everyone’s concern. Hindi lang para sa mga kabataan tulad natin, but everybody is involved when it comes to youth development” Further, he highlighted, “We have common goals. But the only thing, I need to make sure na hindi mawawala ang inyong motivation and dedication into serving the people of the university and our respective departments. May this be an eye opener to all of us. May this be a challenge to each and every one of you, na hindi dahil bata ka, walang magagawa. Age is only a number when it comes to public service, and age will never be an issue when it comes to serving the people from our university and the city of Baguio.”
The newly elected Supreme Student Council (SSC) president, Neonick B. Kinidapan, delivered his speech of gratitude after the turn-over of the key. The induction part was finally concluded by Dr. Perfecto M. Lopez, the vice president for administration, through his closing remarks.
In the continuation of the program for its finality, a public consultation on the proposed ordinance Nr. PO 0083-32 entitled “An Ordinance Adopting a Youth Welfare and Empowerment Code for the City of Baguio” was discussed by the guest speaker.
