3rd International Conference on Research and Exhibits in Aviation and Aeronautics, Tourism, Engineering,

WCC Aeronautical and Technological College, Binalonan, Pangasinan | May 25–27, 2026

The growing role of artificial intelligence in shaping the quality and direction of research marked another defining chapter in global academic collaboration at the 3rd International Conference on Research and Exhibits in Aviation and Aeronautics, Tourism, Engineering, and Education (RISE ICREATE 2026). Anchored on the theme “Advancing Research Through AI Integration,” the conference brought together researchers, industry professionals, and students from various parts of the world to explore the transformative role of artificial intelligence in research, innovation, and education.

More than an academic gathering, the conference served as a vibrant space where ideas were exchanged, partnerships were formed, and innovative solutions were shared. Participants from diverse fields, including aviation and aeronautics, tourism, engineering, and education, engaged in meaningful discussions about how AI is reshaping the way research is conducted, analyzed, and applied to address the complex challenges of our time.

Participants from Baguio Central University attended under the inspiring guidance of Genevieve B. Kupang, PhD, Dean of the Graduate School and International Relations Officer, whose vision and dedication to research, internationalization, and academic excellence helped shape the event into a truly enriching experience. Her leadership encouraged researchers to embrace emerging technologies while remaining committed to the values of collaboration, innovation, and lifelong learning. Under her guidance, BCU researchers presented a co-authored paper on AI ethics in higher education, developed through a mixed-methods study involving 418 stakeholders. The paper, co-authored with Aiza Bheal Kitani, Criselda Felix, Christina Wallang, and Avilardo Leon, earned BCU the Best Paper and Best Presenter Awards, marking the university’s third consecutive Best Presenter recognition at RISE ICREATE.

The Practical Research advisory and the unwavering support of Jocelyn B. Ang, PhD, were equally vital. Her commitment to advancing research and professional development among students from the College of Hospitality and Tourism Management helped build a culture of scholarly engagement and continuous learning that was evident throughout the delegation’s participation.

Throughout the three-day event, participants attended keynote addresses, breakout sessions, research presentations, and exhibits. The discussions demonstrated that AI has moved well beyond its role as a technological tool. It has become an essential partner in research, helping scholars process data, identify patterns, improve decision-making, and develop evidence-based solutions to complex problems.

Researchers in aviation and aeronautics presented studies exploring emerging technologies, aviation safety, operational efficiency, and the integration of AI-driven systems in modern aviation practices. These presentations underscored the industry’s sustained commitment to innovation and continuous improvement. In the tourism track, scholars shared insights into how artificial intelligence is enhancing destination management, tourism marketing, customer experiences, and sustainable tourism development, illustrating how technology can help create more responsive and resilient tourism systems in an increasingly digital world.

The education track highlighted innovative approaches to teaching, learning, and curriculum development. Researchers discussed both the opportunities and challenges of integrating AI into educational settings, emphasizing the importance of preparing educators and learners alike for a rapidly evolving digital landscape.

One of the most engaging aspects of the conference was its research exhibit component, where participants showcased innovative projects, technological applications, and community-based initiatives. These exhibits allowed attendees to witness firsthand how research findings can be translated into practical solutions that benefit communities and industries.

The recognition of outstanding research through awards further inspired participants to continue pursuing excellence. In the Tourism and Hospitality Management category, Kaycee T. Comising presented a study on AI-supported social media analysis of tourist preferences in choosing Baguio City as a top destination, earning recognition for her work in shaping digital platforms that promote the city’s tourism identity.

Her research was titled 'AI-Supported Social Media Analysis of Tourist Preferences in Choosing Baguio as a Top Destination'.

In the Educational Technology, Social Sciences, Arts, and Humanities category, Erlea Mica D. Madarang, together with co-researchers Rica K. Basalong, Jamaykah Britney Bernal, and Romelyn Dionisio, presented the study titled “Effectiveness of Turnitin as an AI-Assisted Tool in Enhancing Research Quality among Hospitality Management Students.” The paper earned both the Best Presenter and Best Paper Awards, recognized for its contribution to raising standards of research integrity and originality among student researchers.

As the conference concluded, it became clear that RISE ICREATE 2026 had successfully achieved its goal of promoting research excellence through the AI integration. The event reaffirmed that while technology continues to evolve, the heart of research remains unchanged: a commitment to discovering knowledge, solving problems, and creating positive change for society. The conference’s outcomes aligned meaningfully with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 4 on Quality Education, SDG 8 on Decent Work and Economic Growth, and SDG 9 on Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure. As participants departed with new knowledge, new partnerships, and renewed purpose, RISE ICREATE 2026 stood as a testament to what becomes possible when research, technology, and human collaboration converge toward a better future.
