Sending Off BCU CCJE’s Future RCrims: Board Exams Begin

February 2, 2026- With hearts full of determination, the class of Bagsik Lahi (2024-2025) of College of Criminal Justice Education at Baguio Central University was formally sent off in a meaningful ceremony held at the Amphitheater, Magsaysay Campus.

The event marked a significant milestone for the examinees of the February 2026 Board Licensure Examination for Criminologists, serving as the official transition from intensive academic preparation to the upcoming Boards. This send-off program started two (2) years ago as a commitment of the university and the college in support to the BCU Alumni. This was attended by the dedicated CCJE faculty members, and the eager examinees, all coming together to offer mentoring, prayers, encouragement, and support.

The program started with a warm remarks from OIC Dean Ma’am Beca May Pidlao-Palitayan, who emphasized that the Boards will determine the results of the examinee’s long term preparation.

Mentorship and last minute tips in passing the Board Exam were shared by the CCJE faculty members. Atty. Shiera Benmaho gave a rationalization for Criminal Law and Jurisprudence, Ms. Princess Joy Moyaen-Mariñas, RCrim for Law Enforcement and Administration, Mr. Ernesto Bucalan Jr, RCrim for Crime Detection and Investigation, Mr. Norman Bustillo, RCrim for Forensic Science, Ms. Rowena Gagno, RCrim, MSCJ for Correctional Administration and OIC Dean Beca May Palitayan, RCrim, MSCJSC delivered the Criminology area. During their sessions, the faculty members shared previous board case examples to reinforce their key topics and addressed common pitfalls examinees might face.

 “Your hard work and late nights of studying will surely pay off. Trust in your preparation and trust in yourselves,” they noted.

After the mentoring, dinner was served by the Team Alpha of Class Mandarasig to show moral support to their seniors. The examinees were also given plastic and brown envelopes, and pencils so they can use it during their board examination.

The CCJE department remains confident that this batch will continue the tradition of excellence and produce high passing rates for the institution.

The examinees took the Licensure Examination for Criminologists on February 4,5 and 6 at seven (7) different exam centers in Baguio City.
