The BCU College of Business Administration Students, Student Government Organization, and JPMAP Participate in AC-YA Youth Leaders’ Conference 2026

BCU delegates from the SSC, SGO, JPMAP, PHMAO, and SASMO participate in discussions on youth leadership and governance.

Students from the Baguio Central University College of Business Administration, together with representatives from the Baguio Central University Student Government and the Junior People Management Association of the Philippines (JPMAP), were invited to participate in the AC-YA 1st Youth Leaders’ Conference 2026 held on March 7, 2026, at the Baguio City Multipurpose Hall.

Organized by the Avancé del Cordillera -Youth Alliance (AC-YA), the conference gathered youth leaders and students to discuss leadership, governance, and responsible information sharing, aiming to inspire the younger generation to become active and responsible leaders in their communities. The event began with opening remarks from Kent B. Padayao, who emphasized that true leadership is defined by principle and integrity. He encouraged the youth to lead with strong values, accountability, and commitment to service.

The first speaker, Mauricio G. Domogan, discussed “Decoding Youth Leadership Laws: Understanding SK Qualifications and Emerging Reforms.” He highlighted that leadership is the ability to influence, guide, and inspire the community while emphasizing the importance of values, discipline, and responsibility among young leaders.

The second speaker, Mia Magdalena Capuyan Fokno, presented “From the Margins to the Headlines: How Local Stories Shape National Truths.” She stressed the importance of fact-based journalism and encouraged the youth to practice critical thinking and be mindful of misinformation and disinformation.

Meanwhile, John Rhey L. Mananeng discussed “From Policy to Pavement: Youth Governance and the Realities of SK Leadership in Baguio City.” He emphasized the importance of grassroots leadership and encouraged young people to take initiative, remain innovative, and actively engage in community development.

Through the conference, the invited students from BCU gained valuable insights into leadership, integrity, and civic responsibility, strengthening their role as future leaders and changemakers in society.
