Women students from the College of Business Administration of Baguio Central University were invited to participate in WOMENtor Year 5, an empowerment program hosted by the University of Baguio on March 6, 2026, in Baguio City. With the theme “Lead like the Babaylans, Filipinas,” the event aimed to inspire young women to develop leadership skills and embrace their role in shaping communities and society.

The event featured keynote speaker Jennifer A. Mejia-Dizon, Administrative Officer IV of the Department of Information and Communications Technology – Cordillera Administrative Region (DICT-CAR) and JCI Pinay Power Awardee 2020. During her talk, she encouraged participants to believe in their capabilities and take pride in their identity as empowered Filipina women.

One of the most memorable messages shared by the speaker was the reminder of the “4 G’s” — God, Ganda, Gigil and Galing. She explained that women should always remember to keep God at the center of their lives, recognize their Ganda (beauty) not only in appearance but also in character, and embrace their Galing (talent and excellence) in everything they do.

She also emphasized that women are God’s “Limited Edition,” highlighting that every woman is uniquely created with special gifts and purpose. This message inspired the participants, especially the BCU-CBA women students, to appreciate their worth and strive to use their abilities to lead and make a positive impact.

Throughout the program, mentors and speakers guided the participants through discussions and reflections that encouraged them to become empowered women who can lead, inspire others, and change lives. The event also provided opportunities for learning through mentorship, workshops, and networking with other aspiring women leaders.

The WOMENtor program continues to support initiatives that promote gender equality and leadership development, contributing to the goals of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals related to education, empowerment, and inclusive development.
