The Amazing Race Baguio 2025, spearheaded by the City Government of Baguio through the Tourism, Culture and Arts Division, unfolded on September 14, 2025, as one of the highlight activities for Tourism Week 2025. The event kicked off at 8:00 AM at the Rose Garden, Burnham Park, drawing participants to a day of thrilling challenges and cultural discovery.

True to the spirit of the Amazing Race, teams navigated through a series of Baguio’s most iconic destinations, each site presenting unique obstacles that tested wit, endurance, and teamwork. The race trail included the storied Diplomat Hotel, the creative haven Ili-Likha Artist Village, the historic Emilio F. Aguinaldo Museum, the community-centered Bayan Park, and the picturesque Panagbenga Park. The journey concluded at the Baguio Convention and Cultural Center, where the final stage of the competition took place.

Proudly representing the Baguio Central University is the College of Hospitality and Tourism Management, Team Power Pulse displayed enthusiasm, unity, and resilience throughout the race.

The team was composed of:

  • Ms. Jhona M. Dela Cruz (3rd Year – BSTM)
  • Ms. Angelyca Bianca G. Landicho (3rd Year – BSTM)
  • Mr. Dhenver R. Paraan (3rd Year – BSTM)

  • Ms. Lois Nicole N. Mariano (3rd Year – BSTM)

Faculty Coordinator:

  • Mr. Wilver A. Duyapat (CHTM Faculty)

While Team Power Pulse brought home a consolation prize, their active participation reflected the values of sportsmanship, cultural appreciation, and academic excellence. Their involvement aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 4: Quality Education, by promoting experiential learning beyond the classroom, and SDG 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities, through the appreciation and preservation of Baguio’s cultural and historical heritage. Moreover, their participation supported SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals, as the event fostered collaboration among educational institutions, local government units, and tourism stakeholders.

The Amazing Race Baguio 2025 not only celebrated tourism but also strengthened local pride, highlighted Baguio’s diverse cultural and historical treasures, and encouraged youth engagement in sustainable tourism initiatives. The event once again showcased why Baguio remains a premier cultural and tourism hub—vibrant, creative, and enduringly proud of its heritage.
