Baguio Central University (BCU) has once again made waves on the international stage by securing notable placements in the 2025 World University Rankings for Innovation (WURI). During the WURI Conference 2025 held in Dumaguete City, BCU earned 12th place in B4: Culture and Values, 21st in B2: Empowerment-Based Management, and 47th in B5: Funding for Sustainability. In addition, the University placed within the 301–350 bracket of the WURI Global Top 400 Innovative Universities—marking its second year of recognition.
These achievements reflect BCU’s commitment to transformative education and community engagement. Project P.E.A.C.E., led by Dr. Genevieve B. Kupang, promotes peace through creative expression and cultural education. Project K.A.Y.A.B.A.N.G., headed by Dr. Gina L. Casi, empowers communities through accessible healthcare and social services. Meanwhile, Dr. Michael T. Sebullen’s Project I.F.U.S.E. program showcases sustainable funding strategies grounded in the university’s core values of equity, truth, freedom, and justice.
BCU’s strong showing in all three categories, with each entry landing in the global Top 100, demonstrates the institution’s growing leadership in innovation. This success is a result of the collective efforts of its academic and administrative leaders, faculty, and staff—united by a shared vision of excellence and social responsibility.
As BCU continues to rise, its story proves that a university rooted in the Cordilleras can lead globally, inspiring change and transformation across borders. Truly, BCU continues to soar—higher from strength to strength.
