
Baguio Central University Earns Global Recognition in 2025 WURI Ranking
This July 2025, Dr. Jin-Suk Kim, Chair, WURI Global Conference, Dr. Jung-Wan Cho, Vice Chair, WURI Global Conference, and Dr. Kyung-Sung Kim, Chair, WURI Ranking 2025 congratulated Baguio Central University (BCU) for its outstanding accomplishment in the 2025 World University Rankings for Innovation (WURI), a recognition that highlights the university’s dedication to innovation, excellence, and collaborative spirit.
The prestigious WURI ranking evaluated 4,866 innovative cases submitted by over 1,253 universities from 87 countries, making this year’s competition one of the most competitive ever. BCU’s inclusion in this list is a testament to the unwavering commitment of its administrators, faculty, and students in advancing education and pioneering creative solutions globally.
Dr. Margarita Cecilda B. Rillera, University President, Dr. Elma D. Donaal, VP for Administration and Dr. Genevieve B. Genevieve Balance Kupang as WURI Historian and WUNI-Leader

In the same token, Baguio Central University also proudly announces that its International Relations Officer and Dean of the Graduate School, Dr. Genevieve Balance Kupang, has been awarded the Certificate as a member of the board of the WUNI-Leaders and appointed WURI Historian by the World University Network for Innovation (WUNI)-Leaders. This prestigious appointment, endorsed by WURI founder Dr. Dong-sung Cho and WUNI President Dr. Robert F. Hayden, marks Dr. Kupang as the first WURI Historian from the Philippines. She serves on the Board of Directors for the term running from September 2024 through September 2025. This honor reflects her dedication to collaborative excellence and her vital role in shaping the future of higher education amid rapid global transformation.

Dr. Michael T. Sebullen, Director of the Research and Development Center and one of the key leaders behind BCU’s successful WURI submissions, responded with heartfelt congratulations on July 28, 2025:
