CBA Students Embrace Professionalism and Innovation in Future Ready Seminar

The College of Business Administration (CBA) of Baguio Central University, in partnership with the Office of Student Affairs and Services (OSAS), held a university-wide seminar titled “Future Ready: Building Professionalism, Financial Literacy, and Entrepreneurial Mindset” on October 9, 2025 (Thursday) at the Margarita J. Fernandez Hall. The event which was open to all colleges across the university, aimed to prepare future professionals by strengthening their values of professionalism and entrepreneurial thinking. Although the seminar was cut short due to an earthquake around 10 AM, it remained impactful and insightful for all attendees with the discussion of the first two speakers.

The seminar featured distinguished speakers who shared their expertise and real-world experiences. Dr. Ruby R. Buccat, faculty member from the University of Baguio, delivered an engaging talk on “Work Etiquette for Future Professionals.” She emphasized that workplace etiquette is essential in maintaining professionalism, building a positive image, and fostering teamwork.

Following her, Dr. John G. Pagaddut, Dean of the College of Business Administration at Ifugao State University, inspired the audience through his topic “Entrepreneurial Mindset: Turning Ideas into Opportunities Across All Fields.” Drawing from his humble beginnings as a Certified Public Accountant who returned to his home province, Ifugao, he shared that finding one’s significance and purpose is the foundation of true success.

The third topic, “Currency Familiarization” for the third speaker, Mr. Jim Ian A. Bautista from the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP), will be rescheduled at a later date and will be announced once the new schedule is finalized. His discussion was postponed due to the earthquake and to ensure the safety of students and staff, classes and work were suspended.
