BCU Strengthens Commitment to Excellence and Service During Weekly Flag Ceremony

BCU employees united as one for its weekly flag-raising ceremony at Fernandez Hall on Monday, July 20, 2026

Baguio Central University (BCU) gathered its administrators, faculty, and non-teaching personnel for its weekly flag-raising ceremony on Monday, July 20, 2026, reaffirming the University community’s shared commitment to professionalism, collaboration, excellence, and quality service.

Dr. Donaal, the VPAA, led the prayer

The ceremony was jointly sponsored by the Office of the Vice President for Academic Affairs (OVPAA), Office of the Vice President for Administration (OVPA), Human Resource Development Office (HRDO), and Guidance Office, highlighting the importance of inter-office collaboration in strengthening institutional unity and fostering a positive workplace culture.

During the ceremony, the University community was reminded to uphold punctuality, proper decorum, professionalism, and responsiveness in carrying out their respective responsibilities. Teaching and non-teaching personnel were encouraged to provide courteous and efficient service to students, parents, colleagues, and other stakeholders while ensuring that offices and academic units remain on track with their plans, targets, reports, and scheduled activities.

The message for the week emphasized that excellence is not always demonstrated through extraordinary accomplishments but is often reflected in how consistently individuals perform their everyday responsibilities with dedication and integrity. Employees were encouraged to begin the week by choosing discipline over excuses, cooperation over division, and action over delay.

The gathering likewise underscored that every member of the University, regardless of position or assignment, contributes to BCU’s continuing growth and success. Through preparedness, accountability, teamwork, and a genuine commitment to service, the BCU community was challenged to reflect on a meaningful question: “What can I contribute today to make BCU better than it was yesterday?”

Dr. Michael Tomas Sebullen, Vice President for Administration, delivers an inspiring message to BCU employees as they begin another productive week.

The weekly flag-raising ceremony continues to serve as an important institutional activity that brings the BCU community together, strengthens shared values, communicates significant University matters, and renews the collective commitment of employees to the University’s mission.

Through the collaborative sponsorship of the OVPAA, OVPA, HRDO, and Guidance Office, the July 20 ceremony reinforced a simple but meaningful call to the entire BCU community: show up prepared, perform every responsibility with excellence, support one another, and work together toward a stronger and better BCU.

BCU employees enthusiastically participated in the morning exercises, bringing energy and positivity as they started the week.
