The Geodetic Engineering students of Baguio Central University (BCU) participated in Engineering Night 2025 on October 14, 2025, at the BCU Magsaysay Campus Auditorium. Organized by the College of Engineering Student Government Organization (COE-SGO), the event brought together engineering students, faculty members, and university leaders for an evening celebrating unity, excellence, and camaraderie within the Engineering community.
The event was attended by Dean Engr. Onofre Rillera, MSCE, faculty members, and engineering students. It also featured guest speaker Atty. Engr. Krizzan Mariz A. Valdez, who shared an inspiring message that encouraged and motivated the Engineering community.
Adding to the evening’s entertainment, Mr. Chariston Jim Amanonce delivered an intermission performance that contributed to the event’s lively atmosphere. The College of Engineering also recognized the support and assistance of the Philippine Institute of Civil Engineers (PICE) Student Chapter and the Geodetic Engineering Student Association (GESA) in helping make the celebration possible.
Engineering Night 2025 served as an opportunity for students and faculty members to strengthen their connections beyond the classroom. Through active participation, teamwork, and shared experiences, the event highlighted the importance of building a supportive and united Engineering community.
The participation of BCU’s Engineering students reflected the university community’s commitment to student engagement, collaboration, and holistic development.
The initiative supports SDG 4: Quality Education — Target 4.7: Education for sustainable development and global citizenship. Engineering Night 2025 contributes to the broader educational experience by providing students with opportunities to develop interpersonal skills, strengthen teamwork, and engage with faculty members and fellow students outside the classroom. These experiences complement academic learning by supporting students’ social development and sense of community. While the event was primarily a student celebration, its emphasis on collaboration and engagement is consistent with the broader aims of inclusive and holistic education.
