Baguio Central University (BCU) student researcher Deberlyn B. Notarte representing her fellow group researchers, presented their study entitled “Seasonal Tourism Trends in Baguio City: Analyzing Visitors’ Preferences and Behavior Across Off-Peak Seasons” at the 8th International Conference on the Latest Trends of Education and Research (ICILTER 2026), held April 11–13, 2026, at Crown Legacy Hotel, Baguio City.
The study examined visitor preferences and travel behavior during less busy tourism periods. It explored how understanding off-peak travel patterns may help tourism stakeholders develop strategies for a more balanced distribution of visitors throughout the year.
During the question-and-answer session, panelists asked about factors affecting off-peak travel choices, the study’s methodology, and implications for local tourism businesses. Notarte explained how the research could inform efforts to support tourism activity beyond peak seasons and ease overcrowding during high-demand periods.
The research group’s participation in the international conference provided a valuable opportunity to share their research findings, engage in scholarly discussions, and gain insights from international researchers and academic professionals. Representing her group, Deberlyn B. Notarte presented their study, responded to academic inquiries, and received a certificate of recognition for her research presentation. This international academic engagement strengthened research communication, critical thinking, and presentation skills while demonstrating BCU’s commitment to quality education, research excellence, and the professional development of future tourism professionals.
