Baguio Central University (BCU), through its College of Nursing and School of Midwifery, celebrates a significant milestone as 135 students—134 Bachelor of Science in Nursing students and one midwifery student—are recognized during the Clinical Graduation and Ring Hop Ceremony for the Class of 2026. The occasion honors their perseverance, academic preparation, and clinical training as they move closer to fulfilling their roles as future healthcare professionals.
At the heart of the ceremony is the presentation of the ring, a symbol of professional responsibility, public trust, and the commitment to provide safe, ethical, and compassionate care. More than a recognition of academic progress, the occasion reminds the graduates that healthcare requires not only technical knowledge but also sound judgment, empathy, and respect for every individual.
Guest speaker Mr. Jufo Rico T. Tegwa adds significance to the celebration through a message encouraging the graduates to approach their chosen profession with courage, humility, and dedication. The milestone also recognizes the contributions of families, faculty members, clinical instructors, and mentors whose guidance and encouragement have supported the students throughout their academic and clinical experiences.
As the graduates prepare for the next stage of their professional journeys, they carry the knowledge, skills, and values developed at BCU into a field that plays a vital role in individual and community well-being. Their training reflects the importance of preparing healthcare practitioners who can respond to patients’ needs with competence, integrity, and compassion.
The ceremony aligns with Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 3: Good Health and Well-Being, by recognizing the preparation of future healthcare professionals who can contribute to quality health services, and It also supports SDG 4: Quality Education, through the development of professional knowledge and clinical competencies.
For the 135 clinical graduates, this occasion represents both an achievement earned through years of dedication and a renewed responsibility to serve. As they continue toward professional practice, BCU hopes they will uphold the values of excellence, ethical conduct, and compassionate care, making meaningful contributions to the patients and communities entrusted to them.
