BCU Accounting Office Reinforces Financial Integrity and Sustainability Through Monthly Operational Meetings:

In line with Baguio Central University’s (BCU) commitment to operational excellence, administrative efficiency, and fiscal transparency, the BCU Accounting Office continues its routine monthly meetings to evaluate and streamline the institution’s financial operations. Spearheaded by Mrs. Ancheta, the Vice President for Finance, who has consistently led these strategic gatherings since 2025, the meetings serve as a crucial platform for administrative coordination, task alignment, and continuous improvement in service delivery across all financial units.

The monthly sessions bring together the dedicated members of the accounting team, each managing pivotal roles within the university’s financial ecosystem. Among the key attendees are Mrs. Jamaica Simon- HRD, Mrs. Sheryll Baliscao, Payroll Officer; Mrs. Angelita Floresca, Disbursing Officer; Mrs. Emilia Rillorta, University Cashier; Mr. Rogelio Siloy, Bookkeeper; Ms. Shiela Madugay, Assessment Officer; and Mr. Jeremiah Licos, who serves as Assessment Officer and Assistant Cashier. Through collaborative discussion, the staff review month-end accomplishments, address operational challenges, and align their respective workloads for the upcoming cycle.

The primary focus of the meeting centers on standardizing monthly accounting workflows and ensuring accuracy across all financial operations. Discussions encompass the timely preparation and release of payroll, systematic record-keeping of disbursements, accurate billing and student assessment evaluations, seamless cashiering transactions, and rigorous bookkeeping audits. By establishing clear benchmarks and monitoring monthly outputs, Mrs. Ancheta and her team ensure that every department operates efficiently, maintaining accurate records while enhancing customer service for students, faculty, and administrative staff.

Beyond daily operational management, these regular accounting meetings directly support the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Most notably, the practice aligns with SDG 16: Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions by fostering institutional transparency, financial accountability, and robust governance within the university. Additionally, effective payroll and disbursement management promotes SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth by protecting employee welfare and ensuring steady financial flows. Ultimately, these synchronized accounting efforts safeguard the university’s financial health, directly contributing to SDG 4: Quality Education by providing a stable administrative foundation that allows BCU to deliver quality academic services to the community.
