The College of Hospitality and Tourism Management (CHTM) of Baguio Central University proudly celebrates the publication of the research study “Perception of Sustainable Tourism Practices in Baguio City” in the Global Researchers Journal, Number 15, June 2026 (ISSN 2546-0110), a national refereed journal published by the Global Researchers Association and Convergence for Excellence (GRACE), Inc.

Research Authors: Jhermie T. Mocay, Nathaleen C. Luzano, Airish D. Gallangi, and Susana C. Binumga.

The study underscores the importance of environmental conservation, cultural preservation, community participation, and responsible tourism development in Baguio City. These priorities support SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth) by advancing sustainable tourism and local economic opportunities; SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities) by emphasizing the protection of cultural and natural heritage; and SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production) by encouraging responsible tourism practices and sustainable resource management.

At the College of Hospitality and Tourism Management (CHTM), research is valued not only for the knowledge it generates but also for how its findings are shared and applied. Through research presentations, scholarly publications, and academic exchange, the College promotes the dissemination of research findings and contributes evidence-informed insights to the hospitality and tourism industry. These activities also complement SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure), particularly its emphasis on strengthening scientific research and supporting innovation.

This achievement reflects CHTM’s continuing commitment to research excellence, community engagement, cultural heritage preservation, and sustainable tourism development. By connecting academic scholarship with industry and community priorities, the College seeks to contribute to more responsible, inclusive, and resilient tourism practices.
