Student leadership begins with a voice, gains strength through representation, and finds purpose in service. At Baguio Central University (BCU), this commitment to student participation takes center stage as the Office of Student Affairs and Services (OSAS) announces the newly elected Student Government Organization (SGO) officers of the College of Nursing and School of Midwifery for Academic Year 2026–2027. Held at the P. Burgos Campus, the election gave students the opportunity to choose representatives who will carry their concerns, advocate for their interests, and help shape a more engaged and collaborative university community.

The newly elected officers represent different year levels and academic programs, reflecting the diverse voices within the College of Nursing and School of Midwifery. Elected through the student electoral process, they now take on the responsibility of serving their peers, encouraging participation in university activities, and promoting initiatives that contribute to student welfare and campus development.

Leading the newly elected SGO is Jasmine A. Palangeo of the SYNAPSE Party-list as Governor, joined by Maygelle Dayag as Vice Governor, Pearl Angelie S. Bardaje as Secretary, Alyssa Eunice R. Delmundo as Treasurer, Nathaniel Carl G. Moyaen as Auditor, Prima P. Agustin as Public Information Officer (PIO), and Angelica C. Erguiza as Business Manager. All seven officers represent the SYNAPSE Party-list.

Completing the roster of student representatives are Thaniah Jhen Dones of the PULSE Party-list as First-Year Representative and Jayson A. Canlas, also of PULSE, as Second-Year Representative. Meanwhile, Sedrick B. Bandos of SYNAPSE was elected Third-Year Representative, while Jenny Joy P. Sumakey of SYNAPSE will serve as Fourth-Year Representative. Representing the School of Midwifery is Jennefer Kane D. Fischer-Bascos as Midwifery Representative.

The Office of Student Affairs and Services congratulates all the newly elected officers as they begin their term of service. Their positions carry the responsibility of upholding integrity, accountability, commitment, and genuine concern for the student body. BCU also recognizes the students who participated in the election, whose votes demonstrated the importance of student involvement in choosing representatives and shaping their collective academic experience.

As the new officers begin their leadership journey, they are encouraged to cultivate open communication, strengthen cooperation among students, and promote inclusive and meaningful representation. Their term presents an opportunity to translate student concerns into constructive dialogue and collaborative action while supporting the academic, personal, and social development of their fellow students.

Beyond electing representatives, the activity reflects the importance of developing responsible, engaged, and service-oriented student leaders. It contributes to Sustainable Development Goal 4: Quality Education, by supporting student development and participation in educational communities; SDG 16: Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions, by promoting democratic participation, accountability, and representative decision-making; and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals, by emphasizing cooperation and shared responsibility in pursuing common objectives within the university.
