The Baguio Central University – College of Hospitality and Tourism Management (BCU–CHTM) further strengthens its commitment to accessible and industry-relevant education through the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with Kenny Rogers Roasters SM City Baguio, expanding practicum opportunities for students who are simultaneously pursuing their studies and professional careers.

Through this collaboration, qualified working students employed at Kenny Rogers Roasters may complete their required practicum within their existing workplace, recognizing the relevance of their food and beverage service experience to the Hospitality Management program. This arrangement provides a practical pathway for students to meet academic requirements while maintaining financial stability and gaining valuable industry competencies.

Beyond fulfilling practicum requirements, the partnership emphasizes the importance of experiential learning, professional development, and academic flexibility. By integrating classroom knowledge with actual restaurant operations, students can further develop their skills in customer service, food and beverage operations, teamwork, and workplace professionalism.

The initiative contributes to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 4 (Quality Education) by promoting accessible and relevant learning opportunities, SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth) by enhancing employability and professional competencies, SDG 10 (Reduced Inequalities) by addressing barriers encountered by working students, and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) by strengthening collaboration between academic institutions and industry partners.

This partnership reflects BCU–CHTM’s continuing commitment to creating educational opportunities that recognize the realities of working students where employment and academic achievement complement rather than compete with one another.

Through meaningful industry partnerships, BCU–CHTM continues to make hospitality education more accessible, relevant, and responsive to the needs of its students.
