Students from Baguio Central University’s College of Hospitality and Tourism Management (BCU-CHTM) participated in the virtual National Research Conference of the Pambansang Samahan ng mga Propesyonal at Mananaliksik sa Pilipinas, Inc. (PSPPI). On May 30, 2026, Rafa Sheila A. Costelo represented her five-member group in presenting their study, “Influence of Culinary Practices on Food Tourism Satisfaction in Urban Areas: On the Lens of SDG 2030.” The event gave the students an opportunity to share their research with participants from other institutions.

As the group’s presenter, Costelo prepared the PowerPoint slides and discussed the study’s objectives, methodology, findings, conclusions, and recommendations. Their research explored how Filipino culinary practices relate to tourists’ dining experiences and satisfaction. Meanwhile, Ana Michaela Joy Alberto, Mark Darwin D. Caugiran, Cris Joseph B. Chatto, and Jefferson E. Salonga worked together to prepare the research paper in journal format, demonstrating the group’s collaboration behind the presentation.

Although the Zoom session did not include a formal question-and-answer exchange or real-time audience feedback, the students were able to present their work in a national academic setting. The conference host commended the presentation and encouraged participants to continue applying and sharing their research insights. For the group, the experience provided an opportunity to strengthen their research communication, presentation, and teamwork skills.

Costelo received a Certificate of Recognition as a research presenter. The experience enabled the group to represent BCU-CHTM, share its work with fellow students and professionals, and appreciate the value of academic exchange and multidisciplinary research. The researchers also identified publication and further studies as possible next steps.
