BCU commemorates employee’s day: 77TH FOUNDING ANNIVERSARY

In line with the celebration of the 77th Founding Anniversary of the University, the employees’ day was held on December 3, 2022, at the New Town Plaza Hotel in Leonard Wood Road, Baguio City.

“This is the first employees’ day celebration after the two years celebration because of the pandemic,” Dr. Elma D. Donaal, Vice President of Academic Affairs said in her opening remarks which was then followed by a video presentation of the history of the university.

“This event is organized to double, triple the excitement of the event after two years of not celebrating due to the pandemic, it is my most heartfelt gratitude for the effort done by the admin, instructors, and teachers for the pandemic,” the University President Margarita Cecilda B. Rillera said in her anniversary message.

In furtherance of the program, new employees were introduced by Dr. Perfecto M. Lopez, the Vice President for

Administration. For the non-teaching personnel: Mr. Junik Cris A. Kalahi from the Accounting Office; Ms. Emalyn L. Maranes from the Guidance Services Office, a BS Psychology degree holder; Ms. Cherry May Pumihic from the Junior High School Principal’s Office Secretary; Mr. Jomar B. Valerio from the College of Nursing and School of Midwifery, a BSED Mapeh degree holder; Ms. Ruth O. Ket-eng from the Guidance Services Office, a BS Psychology degree holder; and Ms. Perla Rebolledo, the University Nurse in the Magsaysay campus.

The teaching personnel in the College of Business Administration are Donny C. Calauna, Ph.D. in Management, Ms. Charen C. Tamiray MPA, and Ms. Madonna P. Nicolas, MBA.

On the other hand, the teaching personnel in the College of Criminal Justice Education are Ms. Beca Mae P. Palitayan, BS Criminology, and Mr. Recson P. Nicolas, LLB.

Moreover, in the College of Hospitality and Tourism Management is Mr. Grey Enoch F. Butz, BS HRM.

Meanwhile, in the College of Engineering is Dr. Joselito F. Buhangin, Ph.D.

The teaching personnel in the College of Nursing and School of Midwifery are Mr. Christopher G. Reyes, MAED/BSED Chemistry, and Ms. Eleonor B. Pablo, BSN/Midwifery.

In the College of Teacher Education and Liberal Arts, the teaching personnel are Ms. Teresa Lyn D. Matiwtiw MAED English, Ms. Donna Marie A. Rillera, BSED Math/MA In Ministry, and Michael T. Sebullen, Ph.D. Major in

Educational Management Minor in Language Education.

For Basic Education, the teaching personnel are Ms. Agustina Balanban, MAAS, and Ms. Cynthia

  1. Urbano, BEED while in the Junior High School are Mr. Jissie M. Alegado, BSED Mapeh; Ms. Micah M. Manuel BSED

English; Ms. Raquel R. Piay, BSED Math; and Ms. Italine Joy A. Sanoy, BSED – Social Studies.

Further, the 5 years of service awards were awarded by Engineer Onofre F. Rillera, Board of Trustees to the following awardees: Ms. Michelle Alumno from the CTELA; Mr. Angelo Bayacsan from the CHTM; Ms. Freda Daludado from the Maintenance Department; Ms. Fely A. Cabrera,  Mr. Alex B. Delgado, Mr. Julius Ceasar D. Monico, Mr. SylvesterC. Palasi and Mr. Jet Clayde Suvilla from the Senior High School Department; Mr. Osmund Lictawa from the Junior High School Department; and Ms. Loida Mangangey from the Graduate School.

According to Mr. Delgado,“Success comes to those who try. It comes to those who are not afraid to fail.”

In the 10 years of service, awards were awarded by Mr. Oscar D. Rillera, the Executive Secretary, and the Board of Trustees to Ms. Jocelyn B. Ang, the Dean of the CHTM, and Dr. Perfecto M. Lopez, the Vice President for Administration, and the Dean of the Graduate School.

“I hope that we are not a liability but an asset to the institution.” Ms. Jocelyn B. Ang quoted.

While for the 15 years of service awards, the awardees were: Mr. Manion Alcantara, the Senior High School Principal; Ms. Myrna S. Bacoco in the Elementary Department; Dr. Michael Y. De Roxas from the CTELA; Ms. Criselda Felix from the College of Engineering; Ms. Shiela C. Madugay from the Accounting office; and Ms. Alice P. Martin in the Maintenance Department.

“I would like to thank BCU my second home,” Ms. Madugay said.

The 20 years of service award was awarded by President Margarita B. Rillera to Ms. Antoniette P. Abelthelada, the university librarian.

“20 years of staying in BCU is just like yesterday,” Ms. Abellada stated.

The 30 years of service award was also awarded by President Rillera to Ms. Emilia Rillorta, the University Cashier.

“My journey to BCU can be traced when I enrolled in CBA in 1983. If my time to leave my workplace comes, I will always go back to my Alma mater, BCU.” Ms. Rillorta said in her response about the award.

The recognition of retirees was awarded by the university president to Dr. Maria Lourdes G. Eguia, and Dr. Josephine Aguirre from the CTELA, and Ms. Waila S. Mendoza from the Maintenance Department.

Best in Barong was awarded to Mr. Alex B. Delgado, and the Best in Filipiniana goes to Dr. Maria Lourdes G. Eguia.

Meanwhile, the winners of the BCU Inter-Office Christmas Decoration contests were awarded by Ms. Jamaica Luisa D. Simon, the Director of the Human Resource and Development Office.

Raffle winners were also recognized. Ms. Jolly B. Mariacos won a cellphone, Ms. Waila S. Mendoza won a laptop, and Mr. Zoren Inowe won a 32-inch Television.
