The atmosphere was electric as the College of Teacher Education and Liberal Arts (CTELA) launched its inaugural Sportsfest. From February 5 to 6, 2026, the college gymnasium pulsated with rhythmic chants, vibrant banners, and high-octane athletic action. Bringing together students, faculty, and staff, the event transformed the venue into a dynamic arena of health, camaraderie, and spirited competition. During these two days, CTELA paused lectures, essays, and lesson plans to engage in a testament to athleticism, heart, and community. The Sportsfest proved to be a masterclass in how shared passion can unite an entire academic department.

From day one, the gymnasium was transformed into a kaleidoscope of team colors—vivid blues, fiery reds, deep greens, and radiant yellows. Every division within CTELA, from future educators and literature majors to communication and social science students, brought their absolute best to the stands.

The spirit was amplified by faculty members who traded their formal wear for athletic attire. Seeing professors cheer alongside students created an infectious energy that sustained the event from sunrise to sunset. Yells, chant battles, and creative banners kept morale sky-high, demonstrating an unyielding enthusiasm that defined every round of competition. These lighthearted interactions served a deeper purpose: humanizing educators and student leaders alike, breaking down administrative barriers, and nurturing a culture of accessibility, mentorship, and genuine friendship.

As the results were announced, the sense of unity across CTELA was palpable. The activity proved that sports are more than just physical exercise—they are a vital laboratory for life. The patience, resilience, and collaborative spirit honed on the playing field are the exact same qualities these future educators, communicators, and liberal arts leaders will bring into their classrooms and communities.

While the scores will eventually fade, the bonds forged through hard work, discipline, and shared joy will resonate within the halls of CTELA for years to come.
