Baguio Central University College of Criminal Justice Education SGO held its Miting de Avance at the C207 Amphitheater on September 18, 2026, providing student leaders and aspiring candidates an opportunity to present their platforms, share their proposed initiatives, and communicate their plans for the student body.
The event served as a platform for candidates to discuss their visions, proposed policies, and commitments to addressing the needs and concerns of criminology students. Through their presentations, candidates highlighted the importance of responsible leadership, student representation, and practical solutions that could contribute to the continuous development of the CCJE community.
The Miting de Avance also encouraged students to actively participate in the electoral process by listening to candidates, evaluating their platforms, and asking questions about their proposed programs. The activity emphasized that student elections are not merely about choosing leaders but also about promoting accountability, transparency, and meaningful representation within the college.
Students who attended the event demonstrated their interest in the future of their organization by engaging with the candidates and learning more about their plans. Their participation highlighted the importance of having an informed student body that understands its role in selecting leaders who will represent their interests and uphold the values of the institution.
Beyond presenting platforms and making campaign promises, the event reminded candidates that effective leadership requires dedication, integrity, and a genuine commitment to serving others. It also encouraged the student community to work together toward common goals and support initiatives that promote unity, academic development, and student welfare.
The activity supports Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 16: Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions, which promotes accountable, transparent, and inclusive institutions and participatory decision-making. It also aligns with SDG 4: Quality Education, particularly the promotion of responsible citizenship and the development of skills needed for active participation in society. Through the Miting de Avance, CCJE continues to encourage informed student participation, responsible leadership, and a shared commitment to building a stronger and more united academic community.
