Mr. Windell V. Aguid bested several candidates from different colleges during the annual event, which is considered one of the university’s most anticipated campus activities. The pageant highlights not only stage presence and confidence but also intellect, character, and leadership among student leaders.
This year’s Mr. BCU 2025 title was awarded to Mr. Harries M. Payangdo of the College of Hospitality and Tourism Management, while Ms. Maria Angelica S. Guia was crowned Ms. BCU 2025. Joining Aguid in the 1st runner-up spot was Ms. Christine G. Bangyay. Named 2nd runners-up were Ms. Marielle Kryzyl A. Datuin and Mr. Joshua R. Comesario, while Ms. Aneshka O. Yag-ao and Mr. Rajon Anthony C. Canaria secured the 3rd runner-up titles.
Mr. Aguid, representing CCJE, drew attention during the competition for his composed demeanor and articulate responses in the question-and-answer portion. Faculty members described his performance as a reflection of the values emphasized in criminology education, including discipline, integrity, and leadership.
Department officials said the achievement serves as motivation for other students to participate in extracurricular activities that promote self-development and confidence. They added that such platforms provide opportunities for students to grow beyond academic requirements and demonstrate their capabilities in diverse fields.
The event also mirrors the principles outlined in the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 4 (Quality Education), which encourages holistic learning, SDG 5 (Gender Equality), which promotes equal opportunities, and SDG 16 (Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions), which highlights the importance of developing responsible and value-driven leaders.
CCJE officials expressed pride in Aguid’s accomplishment, describing it as not only a personal milestone but also a shared victory for the department. They affirmed their continued commitment to nurturing well-rounded students capable of representing the university with excellence and professionalism.
