Every teacher has heard it at least once: a quiet thank you from a student at the end of a long day. It is rarely loud and often rushed, said on the way out the door. But at Baguio Central University, that thank-you was given a stage, a microphone, and an entire afternoon.
The Student Government Organization (SGO), together with the students of the College of Teacher Education and Liberal Arts (CTELA), held a Teachers’ Day program on September 30, 2025, at the Dr. Margarita J. Fernandez (MJF) Function Hall. CTELA students offered their teachers what they had prepared: songs, dances, poems, and role plays, each one dedicated to the people who guide them in and out of the classroom.
The celebration carried the theme “Empowering Educators: Strengthening Resilience, Building Sustainability.” The words fit the work. Teaching asks for patience through difficult days, hope through constant change, and the steady effort of building something that lasts longer than a single school year. The program set out to honor exactly that.
Music carried many of the tributes. One student stepped up to the podium with a guitar, filling the hall with strummed chords and a song meant for the teachers seated before him.
