CHTM CONDUCTED FACULTY PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM

The College of Hospitality and Tourism Management (CHTM) held its Faculty Professional Development Program with the theme “Innovating Hospitality and Tourism Education: Syllabus Development, TOS, and Exam Design for Emerging Trends” at the MJF Hall, Bonifacio Campus on August 27, 2025. The program aimed to enhance faculty competencies in syllabus crafting, Table of Specifications (TOS) preparation, and exam design aligned with current industry trends.

Dr. Michael T. Sebullen, Director for Research, served as the resource speaker. He emphasized the importance of aligning syllabi, teaching methodologies, and assessments with global standards and industry needs, while sharing practical strategies for outcome-based education and effective exam design.

The activity was actively participated in by CHTM faculty members, led by Dr. Jocelyn B. Ang, Dean of CHTM, together with Mr. Wilver A. Duyapat, Ms. Michille F. Lleva, Mr. Angelo A. Bayacsan, and Mr. Ramirez P. Emingan.

The awarding of certificates was spearheaded by Dr. Elma D. Donaal, Vice President for Academic Affairs, with Dr. Sebullen. This highlighted the University’s recognition of continuous pursuit of professional growth and commitment to teaching excellence of the members of the faculty.

The program concluded with renewed dedication from participants to apply innovative approaches in their teaching practices, reaffirming the University’s vision of producing globally competitive graduates through excellence and innovation in hospitality and tourism education.
