The Baguio Central University (BCU) Accounting Office has achieved a monumental milestone by securing back-to-back first-place titles in the university’s annual Inter-Office Christmas Decoration Competition for 2024 and 2025. Demonstrating an extraordinary fusion of artistic imagination, festive cheer, and meticulous attention to detail, the accounting team further solidified their triumph in the 2025 competition by winning the coveted Best in Lantern award. This consecutive victory highlights the department’s unique ability to blend fiscal precision with vibrant creative expression, transforming their workplace into an inspiring showcase of institutional pride and holiday tradition.
Central to the Accounting Office’s winning concept was a deep-seated commitment to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 12: Responsible Consumption and Production and SDG 13: Climate Action. Rather than purchasing new, single-use commercial ornaments, the staff embraced a zero-waste ethos by upcycling discarded office papers, repurposed supplies, and locally sourced eco-friendly materials into their handcrafted decorations.
