Strengthening Research Partnerships for Academic Excellence

Baguio Central University (BCU) proudly participated in the 10thResearchColloquium and Seminar on Research as a Catalyst for CommunityEmpowerment and Sustainable Development, hosted by the Philippine Collegeof Science and Technology (PhilCST). This significant academic gatheringbrought together educators, researchers, and scholars committed to advancingresearch-driven solutions that contribute to community development andsustainable progress.

The event served as an avenue for the presentation, evaluation, and exchangeofinnovative research ideas, fostering meaningful collaboration amonghighereducation institutions. Through this engagement, BCU further strengtheneditspartnership with PhilCST, reaffirming its commitment to promotinga vibrantculture of research, innovation, and knowledge sharing within the academiccommunity.

Representing BCU were Dr. Manion K. Alcantara, Dr. Cherrie Mae M. Manuel, and Dr. Michael T. Sebullen, who served as members of the panel of evaluators. In their roles, they provided constructive feedback, scholarly insights, and expert recommendations to faculty and student researchers, helping enhance the quality, relevance, and impact of the research studies presented during the colloquium.

A highlight of the event was the participation of Dr. Michael T. Sebullen, Director for Research of BCU, who delivered the Keynote Address. In his message, he emphasized the transformative power of research in addressing real-world challenges, encouraging researchers to pursue studies that not only contribute to academic knowledge but also create meaningful and lasting impacts within communities. He underscored the importance of innovation, collaboration, and evidence-based decision-making in responding to emerging societal needs and advancing sustainable development.
