Dr. Cherrie Mae M. Manuel Shines in the International Research Competition 2025, Emerges as 1st Runner-Up in Category 3 Graduate

The College of Business Administration (CBA) proudly celebrates another milestone as Dr. Cherrie Mae M. Manuel, Dean of the College of Business Administration and Research Coordinator, secured 1st Runner-Up in the International Research Competition (IRC) 2025 – Category 3 Graduate with her research paper titled “Business Risk Assessment of Baguio Central University.”

From the initial submission of research papers in August 2025 to the final 3-Minute Thesis (3MT) presentation held on November 28, 2025, Dr. Manuel showcased exemplary dedication, academic rigor, and the spirit of innovation that defines BCU’s commitment to research excellence.

Competing against researchers from various institutions, her work stood out for its relevance, methodological strength, and contribution to organizational sustainability and strategic management. The study provides critical insights into the risks affecting higher education institutions, offering evidence-based recommendations that support institutional resilience—an area of growing importance in today’s rapidly changing educational landscape.

Her outstanding performance in the final round, broadcast live via Facebook, earned her the ₱2,000 cash prize, a plaque, and a certificate, symbolizing her achievement on the international stage.

As both Dean and Research Coordinator of the College of Business Administration, Dr. Manuel continues to set a high standard of scholarship and leadership for the college. Her achievement serves as an inspiration to faculty, students, and fellow researchers, proving that dedication to knowledge creation and continuous improvement yields meaningful results.

 

This recognition also aligns with the CBA’s mission to strengthen its research culture and reinforce its position in local and global academic communities. Dr. Manuel’s work contributes to advancing SDG 4: Quality Education through evidence-driven institutional development, and SDG 9: Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure by promoting data-informed decision-making.
