Baguio Central University (BCU), through its Junior People Management Association of the Philippines (JPMAP) Chapter under the College of Business Administration, joined the national Committee Workshop 2026, themed “UNVEIL: Discover the Leader Within,” held via Zoom on October 4, 2026.

BCU-JPMAP Chapter President Lovely Grace B. Basilang was among the participants in the daylong activity, which brought together student leaders, committee applicants, and JPMAP and People Management Association of the Philippines (PMAP) coordinators from different schools.

Organized by JPMAP National, the workshop aimed to prepare aspiring committee members for organizational responsibilities by strengthening communication, critical thinking, problem-solving, and collaborative leadership skills.

JPMAP National President Charmae Pagayanan opened the program, while Francesca Marie Lobo led an orientation on the organization’s history, strategic direction, and core values of Integrity, Respect, Interdependence, Social Responsibility, and Excellence, collectively known as I-RISE.

Participants took part in interactive exercises, including “The Sound of Me,” a one-minute self-introduction through music; “Strategic Survival,” a team-based decision-making challenge; and “The 60-Second Vision,” which encouraged participants to present proposals for improving JPMAP.

The workshop also featured “Committee Immersion,” during which applicants entered breakout rooms and worked on simulated tasks reflecting the functions and responsibilities of their preferred committees. Committee officers facilitated the exercises and provided feedback.

Adrian A. Ofilas, JPMAP National Trustee for Training and Development, delivered the closing remarks and recognized the participants’ engagement throughout the workshop.

Through its participation, the BCU-JPMAP Chapter continued its involvement in national learning and leadership activities that complement classroom instruction and help prepare students for future organizational and people management roles.

The chapter operates under the guidance of organization adviser Dr. Shamany L. Lokines and the College of Business Administration, headed by Dean Dr. Cherrie Mae M. Manuel.
