February 7–8, 2026 | Theophile Verbist Hall, Saint Louis University
Baguio Central University (BCU) Geodetic Engineering students participated in the 10th North Luzon Geodetic Engineering Students Conference (NLGESC), held on February 7–8, 2026, at Theophile Verbist Hall, Saint Louis University. Hosted by the SLU–Association of Geodetic Engineering Students (SLU–AGES), the conference brought together Geodetic Engineering students from different institutions for academic learning, collaboration, and professional development.
Representing BCU in the PaGElingan Quiz Show were Adan A. Agnaya, Anne Marie T. Loina, and Marc Zedric F. Mauricio, under the guidance of their coach, Engr. Criselda S. Felix. Their participation provided an opportunity to demonstrate their knowledge of Geodetic Engineering and engage in an academic competition with fellow students.
The conference aimed to broaden students’ understanding of current trends and developments in Geodetic Engineering. Through discussions, presentations, and various conference activities, participants gained exposure to relevant topics and emerging technologies that contribute to the advancement of the profession.
Beyond academic learning, the event promoted collaboration, leadership, and camaraderie among aspiring Geodetic Engineers. It also provided opportunities for students to exchange ideas, establish connections with peers from other institutions, and gain insights that could support their academic and professional growth.
BCU’s participation in the conference highlighted the importance of student involvement in academic activities beyond the classroom. Through the PaGElingan Quiz Show and other conference engagements, the university’s Geodetic Engineering students had the opportunity to strengthen their knowledge, build confidence, and deepen their commitment to their chosen profession.
The university’s participation supports Sustainable Development Goal 4 (Quality Education) by encouraging continuous learning, academic engagement, and the development of discipline-specific knowledge. Through participation in an interschool academic competition, students were given an opportunity to apply their learning, challenge their understanding, and develop skills that contribute to their future professional growth.
