Baguio Central University – College of Hospitality and Tourism Management (BCU–CHTM) continues to advance inclusive, accessible, and industry-responsive education through its partnership with Jollibee Bonifacio Street, Baguio City providing working students with an opportunity to fulfill their practicum requirements while continuing their employment.

This meaningful collaboration bridges academic learning and real-world industry experience, enabling students to strengthen their professional competencies, develop essential hospitality and food service skills, and gain valuable workplace experience while pursuing their academic goals.

Recognizing the challenges faced by students who balance education and employment, the initiative promotes a more inclusive approach to experiential learning. It supports students in meeting their academic requirements while maintaining their source of livelihood and preparing for future career opportunities.

Aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the partnership contributes to:

  • SDG 4 – Quality Education: Promoting accessible, relevant, and practical learning opportunities that support students’ academic and professional development.
  • SDG 8 – Decent Work and Economic Growth: Strengthening employability, workplace competencies, and career readiness through industry-based learning experiences.
  • SDG 10 – Reduced Inequalities: Supporting educational inclusion by addressing challenges faced by working students in balancing their academic and employment responsibilities.
  • SDG 17 – Partnerships for the Goals: Strengthening collaboration between the academe and the hospitality and food service industry to advance shared educational and workforce development objectives.

More than an industry partnership, this initiative embodies BCU–CHTM’s commitment to making education accessible, practical, and empowering creating opportunities for students to pursue their education, sustain their livelihood, and build a brighter professional future.

At BCU–CHTM, we believe that pursuing a degree and earning a living should not have to be competing priorities.

The dean and the practicum coordinator conduct a student visitation at Jollibee Bonifacio to monitor practicum experiences, support working students, and strengthen industry partnerships.
