November 8-9, 2025

A significant achievement marks the journey of Baguio Central University’s (BCU) aspiring healthcare professionals as its Midwifery graduates demonstrate their readiness to enter the profession through the November 2025 Midwifery Licensure Examination. The university recorded a 75% passing rate among its examinees, reflecting the graduates’ dedication and perseverance in pursuing their professional aspirations.

The results represent an important milestone for BCU’s School of Midwifery, as passing the licensure examination marks a crucial step toward professional practice. Each successful examinee carries the knowledge and skills developed throughout their academic journey, preparing them to contribute to maternal health, newborn care, and the well-being of families and communities.

BCU’s reported first-time taker passing rate of 75% also stands above the reported national passing rate of 57.6%. This outcome highlights the achievement of the university’s first-time examinees and underscores the importance of academic preparation and professional development in healthcare education.

Beyond the numbers, the achievement represents the beginning of a meaningful responsibility. Midwives play an essential role in supporting safe pregnancy, childbirth, postpartum care, and newborn health. As the successful graduates move toward professional practice, they have the opportunity to apply their knowledge with competence, compassion, and a strong commitment to patient-centered care.

The university congratulates the successful examinees on reaching this important milestone and recognizes the dedication required to complete their studies and meet the demands of the licensure examination. Their achievement serves as an inspiration to current midwifery students to remain focused on their academic goals and prepare for the responsibilities of their future profession.

This accomplishment reflects BCU’s contribution to Sustainable Development Goal 3: Good Health and Well-Being, through the preparation of future midwives who can support maternal and newborn health. It also aligns with SDG 4: Quality Education, by emphasizing the value of professional learning and the development of qualified healthcare practitioners.

As these graduates take their next steps into the profession, their achievement stands as a reminder that midwifery is more than a career—it is a commitment to supporting life, empowering families, and advancing the health of communities.
