Baguio Central University (BCU) student researcher Princess Rose S. Agbuya, representing her fellow group researchers, presented their study titled “Tourist Perception of Safety and Security in Baguio City: Destination Management Implications,” at the 8th International Conference on the Latest Trends of Education and Research (ICILTER 2026), held April 11–13, 2026, at Crown Legacy Hotel, Baguio City.
The presentation examined how tourists’ perceptions of safety and security influence visitor confidence and travel decisions. It discussed how research on these perceptions may help local authorities, tourism stakeholders, and destination managers identify ways to improve the visitor experience.
During the question-and-answer session, participants raised questions about tourists’ safety concerns and possible destination-management responses. Agbuya emphasized the value of effective safety measures and research-informed planning.
The conference provided Princess Rose S. Agbuya with an opportunity to represent her research group by presenting their findings, engaging in academic discussions, and responding to feedback from fellow researchers and experts. Her participation also strengthened her research communication and presentation skills. She received a certificate of recognition for presenting the group’s research paper at the international conference. Moving forward, the research group plans to further disseminate their findings and explore publication opportunities to contribute to sustainable tourism development.
