November 7, 2025 | Gymnasium, BCU Main Campus
The Geodetic Engineering Student Association (GESA) basketball team of Baguio Central University participated in the College of Engineering Sportsfest on November 7, 2025, at the BCU Main Campus gymnasium. The event was organized by the College of Engineering Student Government Organization (COE-SGO) as part of the college’s sports activities.
Through their participation, the GESA basketball team represented the Geodetic Engineering community in an event that brought engineering students together through sports and friendly competition. Their involvement highlighted the importance of teamwork, discipline, sportsmanship, and cooperation among students beyond academic activities.
The College of Engineering Sportsfest also provided an opportunity for students from different engineering programs to interact, build camaraderie, and strengthen their sense of belonging within the college community. Participation in sports encourages students to value collective effort, respect for fellow players, and a healthy balance between academic responsibilities and extracurricular involvement.
GESA’s participation reflected the organization’s support for activities that promote student engagement, unity, and holistic development. Beyond the game itself, the experience contributed to fostering stronger connections among students and encouraging the vibrant spirit of the College of Engineering.
The initiative supports SDG 3: Good Health and Well-Being — Target 3.4: Promote mental health and well-being. Participation in the College of Engineering Sportsfest supports the broader objectives of SDG 3 by encouraging physical activity and social interaction among students. Through basketball, student-athletes have opportunities to engage in exercise, develop teamwork, and enjoy recreational activities that can contribute to overall well-being. Although participation in a single sports event does not directly measure progress toward Target 3.4, it reflects the value of promoting active and supportive student communities.
