In a major effort to enhance the research capabilities of its faculty and staff, the university successfully launched Phase 1 of the SALIKSIK-ANGAT Research Capability Building Program. This initiative seeks to strengthen research skills, improve research perspectives, and promote a culture of inquiry throughout the university’s seven colleges and non-teaching units. Focused on fostering a proactive research environment, this phase included a series of departmental meetings and consultations to address the specific research needs of each college.

The program started with the College of Criminal Justice Education (CCJE) on September 5, 2024, followed by a Research Series of Consultations on September 16-18, 2024. These sessions provided valuable guidance on ongoing and proposed projects. The College of Business Administration (CBA) held its meeting on September 23, focusing on research’s role in business innovation, while the College of Nursing and School of Midwifery (CONSM) met on September 25, discussing action research for healthcare improvements. The College of Teacher Education and Liberal Arts (CTELA) wrapped up Phase 1 with a meeting on October 8, highlighting research’s impact on teaching strategies.

This first phase successfully laid the foundation for future research endeavors, promoting collaboration and enhancing the university’s commitment to academic excellence.

The first phase of the SALIKSIK-ANGAT program has proven to be a highly impactful beginning, paving the way for future research endeavors across the university. The departmental meetings provided a platform for collaboration and capacity building, and faculty members were able to reflect on how research could contribute not only to their professional growth but also to the improvement of the university’s services and the quality of instruction.

As the program continues, the university is committed to further strengthening its research culture by providing ongoing support and resources to faculty and staff. Phase 2 is set to introduce more hands-on workshops, mentorship programs, and opportunities for interdisciplinary research, ensuring that the university remains at the forefront of knowledge production and innovation. The SALIKSIK-ANGAT initiative serves as a testament to the university’s dedication to academic excellence, with research as its foundation for continuous growth and development.
