CBA Faculty Earn Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt Certification

Faculty members of the College of Business Administration (CBA) successfully completed an In-Person Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt Training and Certification held on October 25–26, 2025, at Microtel by Wyndham Baguio. The 16-hour intensive program was participated in by Ms. Khea Joy H. Botes, MBA, and Ms. Marga L. Taganas, CPA, MBA, reinforcing the College’s commitment to academic excellence and continuous professional development.

The training aimed to equip CBA faculty members with analytical rigor and mastery of strategic management tools essential for unbiased and effective problem-solving in organizational settings. Designed for Project Team Leads and Members, the program emphasized the application of Lean Six Sigma methodologies in addressing real-world challenges. This initiative supports the College’s mission to elevate instructional quality, foster innovative curriculum delivery, and better prepare Baguio Central University students for strategic roles in finance, entrepreneurship, and business leadership.

Wave 1 participants actively engaged in dynamic workshops and collaborative activities.

Conducted by Elevate Six Sigma, the training marked the first wave of Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt certification held in Baguio. The sessions were expertly facilitated by Coach Julius Obnamia, who guided participants through a structured and engaging learning experience that combined theory with practical application. The training featured strategic interactive lectures, hands-on workshops, and a comprehensive examination, which participants were required to pass to earn certification. Both CBA faculty members completed the program with distinction, earning recognition for their active participation and strong performance.

Ms. Marga L. Taganas received multiple accolades, including Wave Valedictorian, First Place in the Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt Quiz, First Place in the Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt Examination, and Best Presenter. Meanwhile, Ms. Khea Joy H. Botes secured Second Place in the Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt Examination, further highlighting the faculty’s exemplary performance. The successful completion of this certification underscores the College of Business Administration’s dedication to continuous improvement and faculty development, ensuring that educators remain equipped with globally recognized methodologies that translate into enhanced learning experiences for students.
