BCU BSCS Students Participate in SUI Philippines’ “Move in Campus” Seminar-Workshop

BAGUIO CITY, Philippines — Bachelor of Science in Computer Science (BSCS) students of Baguio Central University (BCU) actively participated in the “Move in Campus” Seminar-Workshop conducted by SUI Philippines on November 27, 2025, at the Computer Laboratory of the BCU Main Building.

Held from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, the whole-day seminar-workshop provided students with valuable opportunities to enhance their technical knowledge, strengthen industry awareness, and gain practical insights into emerging technologies and career opportunities in the information technology sector.

The event was attended by BSCS students together with their faculty advisers, Mr. Junik Cris Calahi and Dr. Jolly B. Mariacos, and was hosted by Mr. John Joshua Andaya. Facilitated by the dynamic team from SUI Philippines, the workshop featured engaging discussions, interactive learning activities, and demonstrations designed to expose students to current industry practices and innovations.

Adding excitement to the event, SUI Philippines also set up an interactive booth where participants received promotional items, including mugs and T-shirts, fostering greater engagement throughout the activity.

Beyond the learning sessions, the seminar-workshop served as a valuable platform for connecting students with industry professionals, allowing them to better understand the competencies and skills required in today’s rapidly evolving technology landscape. The activity reinforced the importance of continuous learning, innovation, and adaptability—qualities essential for future computer science professionals.

 The initiative likewise supports Baguio Central University’s commitment to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4: Quality Education by providing students with relevant and experiential learning opportunities, SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth by strengthening career readiness and employability, and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals by fostering meaningful collaboration between academia and industry.

The successful conduct of the seminar-workshop also paved the way for a potential partnership between Baguio Central University and SUI Philippines, opening opportunities for future collaborations in internships, industry immersion, training programs, certifications, and career development initiatives that will further prepare students for professional success after graduation.
