BCU-GESA CONDUCTS NLGESC QUIZ BEE SCREENING TO SELECT STUDENT REPRESENTATIVES

January 23, 2026 | Room M506, Baguio Central University Main Campus

Geodetic Engineering Student Association (GESA) conducted the 1st North Luzon Geodetic Engineering Students Conference (NLGESC) Quiz Bee Screening on January 23, 2026, at Room M506 of the BCU Main Campus. Organized by the GESA officers, the activity aimed to assess students’ knowledge of Geodetic Engineering concepts and principles and select qualified representatives for the upcoming NLGESC Quiz Bee.

The screening brought together Geodetic Engineering students who participated in a series of questions designed to evaluate their academic knowledge, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills across different areas of the discipline. The activity provided an opportunity to assess the participants’ readiness to represent the university’s Geodetic Engineering student community in the academic competition.

Following the screening, Adan A. Agnaya, Anne Marie T. Loina, and Marc Zedric F. Mauricio emerged as the selected participants. Their selection recognized their performance during the screening and identified them as representatives for the upcoming NLGESC Quiz Bee.

Beyond the selection process, the activity encouraged healthy academic competition, critical thinking, and active participation among Geodetic Engineering students. It also highlighted the importance of continuous learning and strengthening academic foundations as students prepare for future professional challenges.

Through this initiative, GESA provided students with an opportunity to demonstrate their knowledge and pursue academic excellence while preparing to participate in an interschool competition. The screening also reinforced the organization’s role in supporting the academic development of future Geodetic Engineers.

The activity supports Sustainable Development Goal 4 (Quality Education) by encouraging academic excellence, critical thinking, and the continued development of discipline-specific knowledge. Through the screening process, students were given an opportunity to assess their understanding of Geodetic Engineering principles and prepare for further academic learning and competition.
